Body scape

A paired study in form and transformation: a soft pencil figure sketch alongside its sculptural counterpart. Curved lines and negative space echo across both works, turning the body into an abstract landscape of light, shadow, and flowing contours.

In this Body scape series, the human figure becomes both subject and instrument—an evolving landscape shaped by breath, tension, and release. Wrapped in a stretch fabric, the body is gently obscured and redefined, transforming anatomy into abstract contours that shift with each gesture. Drawn from dance and movement study, these forms capture motion mid-phrase: a suspended turn, a gathered fold, a reach held just long enough to become sculpture. The resulting sketches and sculptural works translate choreography into shape—where fabric, force, and flow carve new silhouettes from the familiar body.
